Dak Prescott, Cowboys Rally On Monday Night

…but first… you have to watch this call.

How do I start watching all NFL games in Spanish? Chances are, they also don’t talk about Taylor Swift as much. Seems like a win-win.

Ok, now to the actual game….

The Cowboys were able to get momentum back on their side, shaking off their humiliating 42-10 loss to the San Francisco 49ers.

Labeled “the most humbling game” of quarterback Dak Prescott’s career—Dallas managed a shaky but pivotal 20-17 win over the Los Angeles Chargers.

The victory was far from flawless; both teams put up an error-riddled display under the lights of SoFi Stadium. The Cowboys, marred by 11 accepted penalties and a nearly absent run game—Tony Pollard eked out a mere 30 yards on 15 carries—had more than enough opportunities to let the game slip from their fingers.

The most dramatic hiccup came in the fourth quarter when special teamer Jalen Tolbert fumbled a punt return, setting the Chargers up for an easy game-tying touchdown.

But Dallas responded with a 14-play, 54-yard field goal drive, eating up nearly five minutes of the clock.

The win allows Dallas to keep pace in the NFC East, standing just one game behind their rivals, the 5-1 San Francisco 49ers and Philadelphia Eagles. With a bye week up next, Dallas has the opportunity to figure things out before facing the Eagles,.

JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS VS. NEW ORLEANS SAINTS: Jaguars +1

The New Orleans Saints make their home Amazon Prime Video debut, hosting the AFC South-leading Jacksonville Jaguars tomorrow night.

You’ve got the Jaguars—a team that just bulldozed the Indianapolis Colts 37-20 and whose defense is pick-happy, tied for second in the league with eight interceptions. On the flip side, the Saints are licking their wounds after a 20-13 fumble against the Houston Texans, despite Derek Carr throwing for a career-highlight 353 yards.

Quarterback Trevor Lawrence, the crown jewel of Jacksonville, is on the injury watchlist, which can be a game-changer if he is forced to sit out. As of the time of this publication, Lawrence remains optimistic he’ll be able to play.

Now, let’s talk Saints. Carr threw the ball like a man possessed his last game, racking up his 35th 300-plus yard game. The offense moved the chains for a staggering 430 yards and 24 first downs. Impressive stats on paper, but a complete belly flop in the red zone—zero touchdowns on three trips.

That’s not how you win ball games.

Our Savage Sports pick? Jacksonville 24, New Orleans 17

Some Surprises, Some Not-So Much

The biggest surprise? Penn State? Alabama missing from the picture? Can the Nittany Lions keep it rolling against Ohio State this weekend?

History would say it’s not likely, but we like Penn State for the upset.

Phillies, Rangers Both Up 2-0

Who would have guessed? Is it too early to call a Philadelphia Texas World Series? Maybe. We will play two pivotal Game 3s before Friday’s newsletter goes out. CAN’T WAIT!

  • Scherzer makes his long awaited Rangers post season debut.

  • Houston needs to find some trash cans to bang and turn this series around.

  • Phillies are clobbering the ball and every player on the Diamondbacks is too scared to say anything. Bryce Harper might just stare them down.

  • I still can’t believe Arizona even made it this far.
