The Bills are done, the Raiders are back, and more crazy week 9 takeaways.
Plus: Joe Burrow for MVP, C.J. Stroud goes off, and Dabo says buy Clemson stock.
Good Morning, and welcome to Savage Sports. Good thing we got an extra hour of sleep over the weekend because there was SO MUCH good football to watch! Let’s get right to it.
But first, a quick poll. On Friday, most of you said the Wemby hype was underrated—the kid is the real deal.
Now, let’s talk about Tua Tagovailoa. ICYMI, his last two plays with the game on the line against Kansas City were an awful pass on 3rd down and a botched snap on 4th down. Oh, and the Dolphins are winless against opponents with a winning record all season.
3rd and 10. Game on the line. Tua Tagovailoa throws an 8-yard BOMB to no one.
Hand this man his MVP trophy right now

Is Tua overrated or underrated? |
ALSO, ICYMI: This isn’t financial advice or anything, but after torching Tyler from Spartanburg on a radio show last week, Dabo Swinney is now saying you should buy Clemson stock. ⬇️
Dabo Swinney postgame🔥
"If Clemson's a stock, you better buy all you freaking can buy right now."

Week 9: Raiders Are Back, Bills Are Toast
Jam-packed doesn’t even begin to describe Week 9 in the NFL. We had it all—disappointments, upsets, blowouts, standout performances, coaching debuts, player debuts.
Let’s go through some of the key matchups from this past weekend.
Las Vegas 30, N.Y. Giants 6
Who thought you could ever be this excited about beating the New York Giants?

Are the Raiders back? The Raiders dominated the Giants in a 30-6 victory, with interim coach Antonio Pierce at the helm. Quarterback Aidan O’Connell delivered a solid game-managing performance, showing some real potential for a possible turnaround.
The Raiders’ run defense showed some weakness, which could become a possible issue against run-heavy teams.
The Giants season has been over for a few weeks now, but with Daniel Jones going down with a possible torn ACL, the G-men are pretty much just hoping for a good draft pick now.
Cincinnati 24, Buffalo 18
The Bengals continue their ascent, defeating Buffalo 24-18. Joe Burrow’s performance, with 348 passing yards and two touchdowns, solidly has him in the MVP conversation.
Cincinnati’s tight ends notably improved, contributing significantly to the win. However, Joe Mixon’s subpar rushing effort, contrasting sharply with his previous form, still raises concerns.
The Bengals are on a four-game win streak, while the Bills struggle to find offensive consistency despite a strong start in the game. Their secondary also faltered, unable to produce turnovers that have been pivotal in prior games.
It looks like the Bills’ up-and-down season is turning more down than up. Are they done? The next couple of games will be very telling.
Philadelphia 28, Dallas 23
The Eagles edged out the Cowboys 28-23, flexing their NFC dominance as they advanced to 8-1.
Jalen Hurts continues to strengthen his rapport with receivers DeVonta Smith and A.J. Brown despite aggravating a knee injury during the game. Hurts didn’t miss any time and had this to say after the game.
“I’ll do anything for this city.”
I’m not crying, you’re crying 😢

This is the type of player you want to lead your team.
The Cowboys, while still strong contenders, now have a slimmer margin for error, and their defense showed vulnerabilities in crucial moments of the game.
Houston 39, Tampa Bay 37
C.J Stroud. That is all.
C.J. Stroud just won the game for the #Texans. An absolute STUD. He finished the game 30/42, 470 yards and 5 TDs. Unbelievable 😳

An offensive revival led the Texans to a 39-37 victory over the Buccaneers. C.J. Stroud’s impressive 470-yard, five-touchdown performance has the league buzzing and the Texans in the mix for a ticket to the playoffs
Minnesota 31, Atlanta 28
Despite numerous injuries and utilizing their fourth-string quarterback Joshua Dobbs, the Vikings pulled off a 31-28 win over Atlanta.
Dobbs’s remarkable debut, contributing to three touchdowns, kept Minnesota competitive. Keep in mind that Dobb’s didn’t even have a chance to practice with his new team or learn all of their names. That’s right—ZERO snaps with his new offense.
It didn’t matter.

Clemson Upsets Fighting Irish, Sooners Lose To Rivals OSU
Tyler from Spartanburg may have something to do with it, but we saw a completely new Dabo Swinney and Clemson team against Notre Dame on Saturday.
Clemson now sits just a single win away from clinching Bowl eligibility. Clemson secured an impressive win against the 12th-ranked Notre Dame with a final score of 31-23 on Saturday.
Coach Swinney faced criticism from supporters during the week as the team struggled to exhibit its characteristic dominance. Swinney had a contentious interaction with a fan on his radio show earlier in the week but then led his team to a huge victory, bringing their season record to 5-4.
Rightfully so, Coach Swinney was fired up after the game. Buy all the Clemson stock you can buy now!
But seriously, if we are talking about buying stock, I might look at getting a few shares of OSU.
Oklahoma State started the season 2-2 including a loss to South Alabama. Since then:
-5 straight wins
-3 wins over ranked opponents
-RB that has entered the Heisman conversation
-Win over rival Oklahoma
-Tied atop Big 12 standings— 247Sports (@247Sports)

What Does Oklahoma Upset Mean For the Big 12?
Bedlam’s latest clash not only intensified the storied rivalry but also had significant repercussions for the Big 12 Championship.
Oklahoma State’s narrow victory over Oklahoma shuffled the conference standings, creating chaos and boosting the Pokes’ own chances at playing in the Championship game.
With a 5-1 conference record matching Texas, who sits atop due to a favorable non-conference outcome, the Cowboys’ road to Arlington looks promising.
The Sooners, now 4-2 in the Big 12, are going to need a little help. Texas Tech, despite a middle-of-the-pack position, still clings to an outside chance. In a season already rife with upsets, the road to the Big 12 Championship remains a toss-up, with Texas and Oklahoma State positioned as frontrunners, but no one is really safe.
ALSO, ICYMI: USC lost to Washington, but the delayed flea flicker was a win in itself.

Another crazy Wemby highlight. He makes it look TOO EASY.
